Thermostat (revisited)

I read a while ago many complaining about their thermostats (climate control). I didn't pay attention at the time, but wonder if there are any 'fixes' available from Toyota, since it's probably a software bug.
The issue...
Nomally, during cold winter days, I set the control to 65 and the heat comes on, and largely, it's reliable.
Lately, on cold (~35 degree) days, a setting of 65 starts out as heat and after a few minutes, the airconditioner starts blowing. I set it up to 66 or 67 and it's heat. Then after a while, the AC is back on.
I know I can set it to 67 and play with it when the car warms up, or adjust the fan to a lower speed, but that defeats the purpose of climate control. My 96 Avalon's climate control worked flawlessly once it was set.
I don't think the TCH's control could be described as being flawless (IMHO).
Are others noticing a similar behavior?
Is there a TSB or fix available?

There a BUNCH of C-BEST options in this area that apply to the non-hybrid Toyota and Lexus vehicles. One of them prevents the system from automatically switching to cooling mode once the cabin temperature approaches your setpoint.

There are two more that allow you to disable the a/c compressor indefinitely by simply switching it off once.
