NEW Highlander questions

All I see are older posts about the highlander. Is this because it's such a great vehicle or doesn't anyone own one? I was looking to trade my 08 Escape hybrid for one ( anybody interested?) and was looking for some info ....

Re: NEW Highlander questions

I bought a used 2006 2WD Highlander Hybrid 5 years ago and have never regretted it. It has served all of our driving needs without fail (one time we ran out of gas..). It has proven to be an exceptionally dependable vehicle. There are posts on here referring to driving one in harsh climates. I live in Santa Cruz, CA and have not had to deal with anything except a lot of rain in the winter. i would love to try and answer any questions you might have.

I traded in my '03 Escape in september '13. Nary a complaint yet, other than the paint color is boring (gold), but you can't be picky when you buy used, can you?

Just bought a used 2012 Hybrid Highlander--couldn't be happier. First tank of gas with 90% city/10% highway I averaged 27.9 mpg. Second tank of gas with 50% highway/50% city I averaged 28.4 mpg

Re: NEW Highlander questions

If it makes you feel any better I picked up a used 2009 Highlander Hybrid with 130k miles on the clock and it still drives like new while getting better fuel economy than my CRV (usually around 23 MPG combined in the dead of winter and goes up to around 28 MPG combined in summer). I would have done it all again in hindsight but getting it for a great price made it all worth it. Also working on hybrid cars isn't is scary as people make it sound so I wasn't too concerned with mileage on my purchase.

Just ordered a 2013 hybrid limited - should be here this week - I think I made the right choice.. although I see Toyota announced the 2014 model... not sure when it will go on sale..

just got the 2013 highlander limited w/200 miles on the clock and took it on a 3500 mile trip to the east coast . Averaged 28.7 mpg by hand calculation and almost 30 by the car's calculation. Not one issue w/car.

Re: NEW Highlander questions

The wife and I recently purchased a 2010 HiHy limited with 40K. Together we knew we wanted this vehicle many years ago when we took it out as a rental over a weekend family trip. Unfortunately we could not afford the price tag at that time. I believe this vehicle will be the perfect balance for our lifestyle with two small kids. We have many stop and go kiddo trips (school drop off/pick up) and many long ranged trips planned in the future! :)
