Kentucky Government Officials Working to bring Zap factory to the area

There has been a tremendous amount of press in the Kentucky area lately as provisions have been made to
entice the makers of the Zap Xebra to move their production location from China to Kentucky.  ZAP, a California
based electric automobile manufacturer originally struck a deal with the
Youngman Automotive Group to produce their new Xebra in China, but a partnership with Integrity
Manufacturing could land the new Zap plant in Kentucky.

Along with the existing work that the state of Kentucky has done with
Integrity Manu., state Governor Steve Beshear signed an executive order making
three-wheeled electric vehicles like the Zap Xebra legal on public roads
throughout the state.  Also, Integrity
was extended a 48 million dollar tax break on the proposed building of their 84
million dollar Zap factory.  While
nothing has been set in stone thus far, with a possible Indiana location still
on the horizon, it looks more and more like the newest wave of electric cars
will be built right here in the US by a US based company.  The plant (should the deal go through) could
employ anywhere from 500 to 2,500 people by late 2009.
