It used to mean buying a hybrid car meant settling for slow and less-than-interesting to drive. Infiniti's 2012 M35h hybrid changes all that in dramatic fashion, recently setting the Guinness World Record for the world's fastest hybrid. How fast, do you ask? Go past the jump to see it in action.
CAR Magazine says the M35h accelerates from 0-62 mpg in 5.5 seconds, reaching a 155-mph top speed. The hybrid raced through the ¼-mile in an officially verified 13.8960 seconds. In the rain.

That time puts the M35h in some pretty fast company. The 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera runs the ¼-mile in 13.6 seconds. The classic 1982 Lamborghini Countach LP5000S is actually slower at 13.9 seconds.
