Recall 2003-05 HCH
This Recall Noice just came in the mail today.
I live very close to American Honda Motors in Torrance California so I am probably one of the first in America to get this.
I guess you all should be getting yours soon.
It says the problem makes the engine run slightly lean.
Does anyone understand this?
Isn't that good for MPG?
Hope you can read this:

Re: Recall 2003-05 HCH
Lean burn does mean slightly better FE, but it does also mean more pollution for the catalytic converter to deal with, so eventually it will fail. My Colt tends to do this, and I've had to replace the cat twice in the last 3 years, and trust me, you do not want to be replacing the catalytic converter, it's not cheap.

It looks like the letter only says "certain" HCHs are affected.
The bottom of the letter says
"If you have any questions about this notice, or need assistance with contacting a Honda Dealer, please call Honda Automotive Customer Service at (800) 999-1009"

Wouldn't the fact that you got the letter indicate that your car is affected? I'm kind of annoyed since I just bought my car a few months ago, and I really don't have time to take it back to the dealer for the "half a day" the letter indicates it might take. Do you think it would be safe to just let it go for a few months, until I have the time?
