Default installing floor mat retainer clips

Just bought a new Prius. When I got home from the dealer, I noticed that they did not properly install one of the two floor mat retainer clips. It looks like it was never inserted into the grommet in the carpet.

I tried to insert it, pushing pretty hard, and it does not want to go. I don't want to break it. Any tips on inserting these clips into the carpet grommets? I'll try squeezing them with some pliers, but I wanted to see if anyone here knew a better way.

Thanks.

I find that a small needle -point hammer pops them in quite well.

Finally got it. Just had to push with a screwdriver blade harder than I wanted to, but it didn't break, and finally popped in.

Cheers.
