Picking up our 2008 Prius today!!
We are picking up our 2008 Prius (Seaside Pearl, Package 2) today. Anything in particular I need to be aware of when at the Dealership? Any specific questions I need to ask or information I need to get from them? I have already declined the Environmental Package and (at least for now) the Extended Warranty.
Some questions that have just come to mind:
1) What tire pressure did they set?
2) How much oil did they put in the vehicle?
3) Has the car been checked for alignment?
Let me know if these don't make sense - or if there are other questions I should be asking. Thanks!

You might head over to the Prius forum and review the FAQ. It has a lot of 'lessons learned' and should get you going pretty quickly. Feel free to ask questions.
Also, I wouldn't worry about recording the 'dealer' tank. Learn the car and then start recording your mileage.
GOOD LUCK!

Real MPG
The new 2008 Prius adopted more realistic PMG numbers: 48 city & 45 Hwy.
On highway, my 2007 model gets 51 MPG from the computer read out but actually only 46 MPG tank-to-tank manual calculation.
In the city, it varies so much. Some times I get 25, 30, 35 MPG, other times I got 64 MPG on computer display.
After excitement cools down
So be ready to accept more realistic numbers. All the tricks taught in this web site can help you improve MPG. But soon you'll realize the road condition where you live dictates your average MPG.
No matter what, Prius is more efficient than any other car
Whether you can run 65 MPG like a pro, or 39 MPG like me, you are still saving the environment better than any other car in the same road condition.

So how did it go? First impressions of the new Prius? I hope you're happy with it thus far! Congrats on the new car and welcome to the hybrid family! Good luck.

I love my hybrid. It save me half of the gas. But it marketed as higher hope to the public. I wish my MPG were higher, as published by the manufacturer. I guess the battery is still very small (1KWh). I can't wait till next generation hybrids come out with at least 10 to 15 KWh energy storage.
I can't wait to enjoy 150+ MPG!!!
