HCH III Battery Reliability

First post over here .. we've had very good luck with my wife's 2012 Civic Hybrid. It's eight-year IMA battery warranty is up in October, so we are hopeful the newer design in HCH-IIIs has fixed the problems people have with their HCH-IIs.

Otherwise nice to find so many fewer posts here, I take that as a good sign for this generation!

Checking back ... the battery is still working perfectly and no responses to the original post, so I take that as two good signs!

Re: HCH III Battery Reliability

Very low production numbers. Less than 20K total produced 2012-2014.

Lithium is inherently more reliable when paired with an effective battery management system. The only issues I've seen with them are DC-DC converter failures and Inverter failures. DC-DC is pretty cheap as salvage is an option, but as I understand it, the Inverter is coded to the vehicle VIN, so it's a dealer-only item, and it's expensive.
