Just wanted to share my good news with folks who understand.
I bought my used 2001 Insight in Sept 2004 - 27000 miles with a lifetime mpg of 56.4

Today, at 73377 miles, I finally managed to move my lmpg above the 60 mark to 60.1 lmpg. Have to admit it was very exciting when it jumped from 59.9 to 60.1.
Still have a long way to go to get it closer to my average tank mpg (65-70).

It'll be a while be fore I get my lmpg past 60. I bought my Insight about two months ago with a measly 47.9 lmpg. So far I am personally averaging 75 mpg though... over a tank and half.

We bought our 2003 Insight CVT #746 with 82,000 miles and lmpg 47.9 and I figured it was never going to move. I reset it a week ago after realizing that as long as we recorded the readings at the time of reset, we can always compute the true lmpg for the vehicle if we want to know it as a weighted average of the value at reset and the current reading. The display
now shows lmpg since the reset (63.4 after 152 miles) which is much more relevant. Obviously, the odometer does not reset so we have to remember the mileage at reset to know this is based on 152 miles. But, we now have
our lmpg both ways.
