Over the weekend I had to take a look at the passengers side brake pads. Recently, there had been some occaisionally squealing, especially when going around corners. I thought that perhaps there was a loose clip or someting. I didn't find a loos clip, but they definitely need to be replaced. The inner pad is much more worn than the outer pad. I'll have to order a set of front pads tonight.

I've done my own brake work on my cars before, and this car doesn't seem any different. Has anyone else done the brakes on the Insight or know anything unique I need to take into consideration?

Something else interesting to note... even though the tires have been rotated, it appears that the passengers side fron tire is worn the most out of all the tires. Especially worn on the outer edges of it. (I'm running about 44psi these days.)
So I guess it's time to think about tires, too.

FYI my mileage is at ~37,000

I replaced the front pads over the weekend. Nothing too out of the ordinary, I guess. The pads cost ~$36.00. Something of note... there were self adhesive metal shims to put on the backsides of the pads. Peel and stick. Perhaps you have seen this before, but it was new to me
Overall, I guess the uneveness in wear wasn't too alarming, and I probably could have gone a bit farther on the pads. Better safe than sorry. Pads are a whole lot cheaper to replace than damaged rotors.
The whole job took less than 45 minutes and now I feel a better knowing that everything is new.
