Default 2004 civic hybrid tranny problem

Hi Thank for this forum! Hope It will solve my questions.

I have 2004 Civic Hybrid. Auto trans. 173k miles bought it a year ago. This morning going to work I felt rumbling on acceleration from a stop and seems like the car having hard time on accelerating on after start, so I stop and turn off the car and when I turn the car on It starts right up but when I put it to DRIVE it won't engage it seems like it was just on neutral same thing in reverse. Is my transmission broken? Any help would be appreciated. FYI I dont have records regarding If the transmission was change. THanks!

Try a "search" on the forums for posts on "start clutch". You should be able to find info in a thread like this one:

It may be the CVT start clutch. There's a Technical Service Bulletin #07-049 regarding the problem.
