Default 2006 Civic Hybrid MPG

I have a 2006 Civic Hybrid that I bought used. It had about 90k miles when I bought it and my average MPG was about 37 which I thought was low but it was a big step up from my 11 mpg V8 I had before. Now a year later with a little over 100k miles my car gets about 29 MPG and it has been declining over the year. Is there anything I can do to increase this? Is the battery going bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Zach

Tire pressure - put 40PSI in all 4 tires and see if that improves things.

A/C - are you using the Air Conditioning? This takes about 5MPG away from mileage. If you do use AC, set it to 77deg or higher.

Air filter - make sure your air filter has less than 12,000 miles and you can see light through it.

Oil - make sure you use the 0w20 oil. I recommend the synthetic Mobil1, you can get a 5 quart bottle at Walmart.

Going down that far, you may have a battery pack going bad. My 05 did the same thing right before it died on me.

No your car is fine, the IMA battery slowly gets worst over time. It's not bad thought like it's still fine an. Good it's just you are always going to have better mph when you first get the car compared to later. If it matters to you that much you can get a new IMA battery put in but that's thousands of dollars I don't recormend it unless yours is broken. Which it isn't.

I can't go less than 45 mpg only city drive... Even so I beat the epa... That tiny 1.3 engine cannot waste more gas... Alignment, air filter, oil0/20 put Dunlop sp31 tires, over inflate those 2 or 3 more psi

Another thing to look at could be brakes. If you have rusted rotors or have brakes that are hanging up a bit, it can cause a lot more drag and a loss in MPG.
It is POSSIBLE that the battery pack is going bad but Id look at other things before I look at that battery pack.
