Hello, I am new to this forum.

I previously owned a 2003 HCH (put 65k on it and loved every mile) but got into a car accident and totaled it. I immediately went out and purchased a 2006 HCH (Galaxy Gray w/ Nav). When I bought the car they told me it would be in 'within 10 days' (that was over 2 weeks ago), but now they keep telling me 'due to the unreliability of the transportation industry we don't know when it will be in'. I bought the car in the Boston area, does anyone in New England have their car yet?

Oh, by the way, I payed full MSRP. I called all the dealers in eastern mass and all were sold out until dec-jan (so bargaining wasn't an option). I got the last one not pre-ordered at this dealer, and luckily got the color I wanted w/ nav!

 

Do they have the VIN yet? If not, it's over two weeks away.

 

Yep they gave me the VIN. Does that mean the car has already been put in transit?

 

Yes it does. And the main reason I asked was to make sure the car is real and not just theoretical. It's just a matter of patience and the dealer has no control over its arrival.

 

Ok thanks for the help. Reading about everyone elses experiences with their new HCH helps make the time go by faster!

 

dwax: I am also from the New England area(Rhode Island) and I have not seen one yet. I got an email from my dealer today and he said that he still hasn't gotten any vin numbers in yet but still informed me that it would be the middle of December. I hope he is correct. This Honda dealer is the biggest seller of Honda's in the northeast so I don't know if they get priority or not as to when they receive them. Actually, I am getting mine from a dealer in Seekonk,MA.

 

I actually bought mine at the same dealer but at the Burlington location. I was able to get hundreds off the extended warranty (in case you were thinking of getting one) by just asking.

 

Yeah, I usually do get their extended warranty because if you don't end up using it, you get the $$ back!! At least that is the way it is with the 03 CR-V I bought back in OCT 02.

 

yep same deal now. I ended up getting the extending 'refundable' 100k warranty and the 5 year wheel warranty.
