HCH Class Action Lawsuit?
I just received the following e-mail about a class action lawsuit:
Please click on the attached link for information pertaining to a settlement affecting original owners and lessees of Honda Civic Hybrids model years 2003-2008.
http://www.HCHsettlement.com
The referenced Vehicle Identification Number is XXXX (they included my valid VIN)
If you are unable to operate the link for any reason, please call 1-800-999-1009.
Thank you.

Though it does seem a bit odd to receive something like this via e-mail vs. regular mail, the web site looks harmless enough, it doesn't appear to be a phishing attempt and the domain is registered to Honda:http://www.HCHsettlement.com

If you are unable to operate the link for any reason, please call 1-800-999-1009.
Thank you.

Did any other 2003-2008 owners receive a similar e-mail and can anyone confirm if this is legit?

Re: HCH Class Action Lawsuit?
Why? Are you unhappy with your HCH? Disappointed with it's MPG?
I intend to object to the settlement as the car has been great and I'm happy with the MPG. If enough happy customers object to the settlement, the judge may just dismiss it as groundless.

Re: HCH Class Action Lawsuit?
I got the same email and found more details are here: http://chimicles.com/case/honda-hybrid
I'm quite happy with my 2004 model, and it averages well above 32 mpg in all kinds of weather and driving, so I wouldn't feel right signing on.

Re: HCH Class Action Lawsuit?
I am happy with my 2005 HCH I have got over 40mpg since buying it new and I have over 115000 miles on it. I hope people read the settlement papers the lawyers get close to $3,000,000 and HCH owners get $1000 if they sell their car and buy an approved new Honda seems a little out of whack to me.

Re: HCH Class Action Lawsuit?
I have a 2008 HCH and get over 50 MPG most of the time. 40,000 plus miles.
I can't think of anything to complain about. I love this car!
I rarely see any negative comments about HCHs in this forum.
I don't want to be a part of this bogus land grab.

Re: HCH Class Action Lawsuit?
As an owner of a 2008 HCH with 31,000, I have averaged over 50 mpg over the nearly 2 years that I've driven the car, I live in CT where I have to suffer through 5 months of cold and often snowy conditions. True, the mileage drops in the winter months to the low to mid 40's, but every car sees a dip in efficiency under the same situation.
This law suit is frivolous!
