Hi Gasolean:

___What was your Costco price before taxes? A 2004 HCH w/ 5-speed manual has an MSRP of $20,140 including destination - $1,502 = $18,638. A 2004 HCH w/ CVT has an MSRP of 21,140 including destination - $1,502 = $19,638. Are either of these 2 prices what you paid or was it an 05? I haven’t seen the 05 pricing yet other then from the MSRP and after discount side at the dealership as listed above.

___Good Luck

We got the 2004 CVT. Yes, A 2004 HCH w/ CVT has an MSRP of 21,140 including destination - $1,502 = $19,638, though we did get a few extras that cost us a bit more, $300 more I think. But your numbers are correct.

Thanks for this thread, I just bought in Hawaii a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid CVT
Sept.12. 2004, Paid 21,186.
20,200 cost, 174 doc. fee, 682.14 state tax, 130 license,registration etc. fee
Before I bought I didn't know about this site so I hope others keep posting. Its helpful before you buy to know where to start. Seeing previous messages I guess for a 2005 it was not too bad a price. The potential mileage was a big draw, gas is 2.20 per gallon, but I'm one of those ones who is hoping in the long run that the car truly will be greener than all the old technology ones I've owned. Less emissions, use less oil etc.

Talking Re: How much did you pay?

I bought my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid 5 speed a few weeks ago. I paid invoice plus destination fee. It was 18695 (I think...may be a few dollars off). I did the internet manager thing (emailed all of them between Eugene and Vancouver, WA) and this was the best price I could get out of any of them. Many said they could NOT do that price. I'm pretty happy with it considering how much gas is right now. Of course the 06s were (are) coming out soon so that probably helped!

$18,950 (includes dealer fees) plus tax and license.
Got the quote thru Costco Auto Buyinbg Service for a 5-speed then the dealer screwed up on the 5-speed (long story) and offered me the CVT at the same price.
Got a 5 year, 100,000 0 deductible warranty thru the dealer for $870 after researching on the net first (they price match you know).

I bought a new '05 HCH 5 speed manual and paid $19,595 plus tax and license, about $21,300 out the door, about 2 weeks ago. It appears I may have paid too much, but after shopping about 6 dealerships, it was the cheapest I could find. Most dealerships refused to come down at all off the sticker price.
Despite possibly paying more than I should have, I am happy with my purchase. I filled up 3 times at about the 1/2 tank mark and averaged 47.5 mpg on the first tank, 41.5 mpg on the second, and this 3/4 tank I got 51 mpg, 378 miles and 7.4 gallons

Don't feel too bad I actually bought at list about a year ago. I didn't shop around much because I was in a hurry to get a car, though in retrospect I probably should have. I knew that the Prius had insane waiting lists so I thought MSRP for the HCH was a fair deal provided I could have it immediately.

I bought a used 2004 HCH CVT with 14k miles in perfect shape about a month ago at a used car dealer in Albuquerque. I paid $18,500 bottom line including TTL/everything. That makes it about 17k before TTL I think, $2k below blue book. I was pretty happy, especially since new ones were scarce and the other used ones were all $20k+ with higher miles. Also, I couldn't find a new or used space ship (prius) for under 23k.

I bought a new 2004 HCH CVT with 101 miles in June of 2005 off a Honda Dealers lot, been sitting there 8 months. They had lowered it to $17850 plus title, taxes & tags. I grabbed it quick.
