Pipe Insulation in Grill

Re: Pipe Insulation in Grill
MSantos, thanks for you recommendation! I blocked the two bottom rows. The coolant temperature seems to rise a bit faster than before, but it still never got higher than 80C. I'm just used to higher coolant temps from my previous car (Subaru). It went up to 90C on my 45min commute even when outside temperature was around -10C.
I have already seen some improvement in the fuel economy after installing the insulation!
Cheers,
Lori

Re: Pipe Insulation in Grill
Lori, your Subaru probably had a 90c thermostat in the cooling system and your HCH2 is more than likely using a 80c thermostat. Maybe we should be installing hotter thermostats in our HCH2's? Something to consider for next winter. Cheers, H
