Ahh .. Summer MPG

Re: Ahh .. Summer MPG
too bad for you Larry
those of us in new england are loving spring finally arriving. it's been 70 here in ny for 2 days and my mileage is finally into the low to mid 50's- even on my stinkey little short drives around town in traffic-yea!
gas is up to $2.15 gallon locally, and the 2 guys I work with are sick of me walking into the office saying: I just got 56mpg on that trip to the printers.
hoping for my first 500 mile tank soon!

Re: Ahh .. Summer MPG
Shooting for my first 700 mile tank, at the risk of running out....Am at 676 with no bars and FCD showing 54.8 ........... to make it to 700 I'll have to be averaging at least 53.1 in "real MPG" or I'm hosed !!!! I may need to fill my little red plastic portable gas tank and carry it with me tonite and tomorrow !!!

Re: Ahh .. Summer MPG
Well it's been high 70's and milage has gone back up. I haven't added any to the data base in like many , many months. I have all my info actual at the pump and it was scary...lol down to 49 in Dec. but have gotten back in the 53 to 56 mpg range at the pump. Dang it's great to drive a Hybrid!!! Kevin

Separate note; as a reply to the earlier discussion with Wayne. According to this article it looks like Phoenix is still stuck with E10 for all the summer months unless we get a special waiver from the EPA. Apparently the previous thing was simply a waiver to get us out of using MTBE, but we're still supposed to run E10 anyway, from what I can gather. The article doesn't really spell it out, other than to say we still have a special blend for summertime.

Lar-ss, whatever you do, if you have a wife, keep her away from the steering wheel !
My FCD was a nice 63.0 400 miles into my current tank, and then she took the car out for a couple of days in cool, windy weather. Now I am at 59.5 520 miles into the tank, with no likely chance of hitting 60 mpg this tank since I don't have much more than 100 miles left to correct the damage.
Grrrr.
She might argue that it is *her* car, but I think that is quite besides the point.
lol.

Re: Ahh .. Summer MPG
Ahh, yes temps are warming up and spring is in full gear here in Georgia.
I'm reeeely going to try to take advantage and increase my fuel efficiency and crack the 65MPG tank this year, at least not let it drop below 60.
So far i've traveled about 400miles and 64 point something MPG on this tank, only about 300 more to go.
