E85 gas cans?

Most of us have or are aware of those red plastic gasoline cans. These are sold in many different retail locations. Do E85 gas "cans/containers" exist? Would they be green? Can one store E85 in the commonly found red gasoline containers?

Re: E85 gas cans?

You can store E85 in red gasoline cans, since the Fire Dept. / Highway Dept. considers it to have the same properties as gasoline.

If you are worried about confusing the two, I have seen yellow cans used for E85.

I think yellow is used for diesel too, but you'd be hard pressed to confuse diesel and E85. Blue is for kerosine. Green is generally used for water. So we are about out of colors!

Great question!
