...or so he claims. Here's a link to the article. Too good to be true?

Yes,it is too good to be true.It takes as much energy to electrolytically produce H2 and O2 from water as it will produce in heat energy when you burn it.Worse when you burn it there is no way that you will be able to use 100% of the heat energy-isn't 30-40% about what a 4 stroke piston engine delivers.
Now this article seems to imply that pumping a little bit of H2 in with the gasoline will make the gasoline burn more completely.Heck,I think about 97% or more of the gasoline is burning now,so it won't-can't make much difference.
The problem with H2 -in all applications-fuel cell etc-is where do you get the energy to produce the H2?My guess is thay using electrical power from nuclear plants to produce H2 from water is about the only way we can do it and improve our general energy position-importing oil from our bitter enemies is a recipe for nothing good.Charlie

100% pure garbage. Witness:

Most internal combustion engines operate at about 35 per cent efficiency. This means that only 35 per cent of the fuel is fully burned. The rest either turns to carbon corroding the engine or goes out the exhaust pipe as greenhouse gases.

The H2N-Gen increases burn efficiency to at least 97 per cent, Williams said. This saves fuel and greatly reduces emissions.
First off, operating at 35% efficiency is means that you can take 112,000 BTU of liquid fuel and get 39,200 BTU worth of crankshaft rotational force from it. It has NOTHING to do with how "complete" the burn is. Every car burns fuel completely, that's not the problem. The problem is turning heat energy into mechanical energy. THAT is the process that's 35% efficient. If you want to increase that, you need to switch to something other than pistons and connecting rods. More smoke and mirrors, as usual.

The idea is interesting, especially since they are adding hydrogen to natural gas (HCNG) this is the same thing, except for use with any kind of fuel, and without having to store the hydrogen. It might not have much effect on mileage, but it will really clean up emissions, especially diesel.

GCC has an article about other designs too: http://www.greencarcongress.com/2005...board_wat.html

The generator works by spinning the water very quickly, creating an electro-magnetic field which splits the hydrogen from the oxygen. Current methods of separating hydrogen, using fossil fuels or electrolysis, release harmful emissions into the environment.

Dr Fulcieri Maltini, an independent consultant who has reviewed the technology, said: “It’s a completely novel way to produce hydrogen.”

Hi All:

___3 words … Toronto - Stock - Exchange. This is where the shyster’s live and I see nothing new here. Tailpipe was cold … What is this guy smoking including where did the CO2 go? That gasoline’s Carbon went somewhere and the last I looked, CO2 was the GHG of major concern in automobile propulsion? Maybe it was consumed in a cold fusion - nuclear reaction and was somehow broken down into H itself? I wouldn’t want to be around it when all those Neutron’s started flying off let alone the energy released when those nucleic bonds were broken … KaBoom

___Good Luck

I love this quote:

"This means that only 35 per cent of the fuel is fully burned. "

I wondered why I was leaving a trail of liquid on the road behind me!
