Measuring Fuel economy

I have a non hybrid 05 Toyota Echo, no mpg computer, but figuring out the mpg the (kms ÷ liters) way of gas doen't work when you don't do complete fills, different pumps, and not stoping at the click on teh pump
any suggestions to come up with accurate numbers for the mielage database?

Over time it works out. Even if the tanks are random gallons and the miles are random per tank the totals will give you a reasonable average over time.

I'm not sure why you gotta be different .. :P

But you could just keep track of gallons pumped until you fill-until-the-full-tank-click opportunity, and sum up the distance driven divided by the interim fuel used from the previous marker.

The point is, you have to calculate from a baseline to that same baseline.

Re: Measuring Fuel economy

Only for indivdual tanks though. Because basicly it isn't going to matter over time how many miles and how much fuel was used on any particular tank. What matters is that over 34000 miles you put in x amount of fuel.
