Default New record for my non-H civic!

My old record for my non-hybrid civic was 48.xx mpg for a tank. Filled up at 542 miles and put 10.6 gallons in for a total of 51.1(!!!)mpg. The EPA highway rating for my car is 38, so if my math is right my tank was 134% of EPA.

I have a scanguage2 on the way, so maybe I can get it to go even higher.

Grrr, that kill me when I see a non-hybrid owner having better score than me with an hybrid . Seriously, It proof how the behavior is the key and the hybrid just an help. There is no place for mistakes. 51 with an non-H! Congradulation from a jealous fan.

Nice tank, one down and five to go. You might take a peek at the definition:
Hypermiler! The driver of this car has achieved "hypermiler" status. To qualify, a car must have higher fuel economy than EPA estimates over more than 3,000 miles. The EPA city/highway figures are weighted for each car. If no percentages are specified, 55/45% is default.
The database here is pretty well hybrid oriented. However, there is a non-hybrid database at another site that includes non-hybrid Civics.

I've been hypermiling for a long time, I just didn't log my numbers. But, I guess the proof is in the pudding, eh?

That is a shame since the GreenHybrid database remains one of the best features.

Without looking at www.fueleconomy.gov, that has got to be above the EPA estimates.

Do I suspect that you will eventually do like someone (can't say right now) that is going to buy a hybrid?
