I got it just about 3 weeks ago now. Tough decision between the HAH and the TCH. Ultimately, it came down to things like extra cupholders, excellent center console, non-hybrid like performance, and a wonderful below invoice deal.
In any case, I thought I'd post an introduction even though this isn't my first post. I've long watched the hybrid scene, but have only just jumped in as we finally got around to getting our 1999 Mazda Miata ready to sell. It's got a Flyin' Miata turbo in it and is an absolutely brilliant ride and insanely fast. Thus we just couldn't lose too much performance when going to a hybrid -- not yet at least. Maybe someday I'll convince me wife we can own three cars and get a cheap Insight. Maybe...
The HAH has been wonderful for my daily commute from Santa Cruz county to Santa Clara county over highway 17. It handles great, has no worries about passing going up hill, and has been getting about 33mpg by the time I return home in the evenings. (Short trips out in the evenings help reduce the overall MPG -- the price to be paid for not having a hybrid that can't do EV only.)
Thanks to the people who keep this forum going for creating a surprisingly friendly environment.
