Default First Timer..newb-so-to-speak

I've been in Camry's since 1990. '90, '94, '97 and 2000. As well as an '03 MR2 and an '04 ICE Highlander ( was there any other, ). For 20+ years I was in the steel industry selling steel to the automakers, their subcontractors and many others as well. But in 1998 I semi-retired to play poker.. but that is a very very volatile profession so I supplement it by working full time selling Toyotas .

Since 2001 I've been involved with developing and selling the Hybrids . By chance I believe that I sold the first in our area and then the first of the Gen2's as well ( to the same doctor ). I've made it a point to get to know them intimately but found that owners knew much more than I did. They lived with them day in and day out. So how in good faith could I not get one? I did back in Nov last year when the final shipment of '05's came in and one was available in the package I wanted. But the '06 tax credit?? . I foregoed (?) it in favor of the '05 deduction and an upfront discount to allow the store to clear its lot of the last '05, thereby earning more '06's.

Well after 6 weeks of driving there is nothing out of the ordinary to report except that I will reach 200000 miles in just over 4 yrs! with my 150 mi/day commute. MPG actual values are right at 47.5 combined which is just where I expected them to be. I did have a 'triangle of death' event one day coming to work when the last fuel bar was blinking. I EV'd to a station a mile away filled up w/ 10.2 gal and it went away. Hmmm did I cause it? Dunno. But I keep an eye open now.

I was certain that I was going to wait for the HSD Camry being such a loyal Camry owner but, Hey why not two incentives? Hmmm.
