Hi, I'm Lakedude. This is a nice site, glad to be here. I came from Insight Central. I like IC a lot but they are a bit restrictive over there. They also haven't had any new news since January. Anyhow I'm glad to have found a Hybrid site, instead of just an Insight only site.

Welcome, LakeDude! Glad to have you here. Do you own an Insight?

Do you own an Insight?
Ahh sadly no. I've been keeping an eye on hybrids for years and tried to buy an Insight locally after test driving a CVT. The local dealership had zero intrest in finding me a manual and kept trying to ram the CVT down my throat. They kept calling me back offering the CVT at lower and lower prices and I kept asking if they got a manual tranny in yet. I'm still waiting.

Part 2: I just tried to buy a Prius and thanks to high gas prices my dealership informed me the 30,000 people are already on a waiting list and it could be years before our little town sees one.

Lakedude,
Welcome! Just to throw out another option, HCH's are quite nice and decently easy to get as I understand it.
Cheers,
Steven

Hi there, lakedude!
What part of the country are you from?

I know what you mean about the CVT pushing. Sometimes dealers seem to be stuck on selling you what they have, instead of what you want.

I too like this site for the fact that it is not a one-hybrid source of info.

Welcome!

South Central. Sorry to not be more specific but I don't broadcast my personal info on the internet.

lakedue,
I can understand your concern.
I was just thinking that if you were in my neck of the woods I'd offer a test drive in my manual Insight.
