Howdy. Bought the HCHII in May 2006 what a difference in our monthly gas consumption!

Before:
2004 VW Touareg 16MPG 26.5 gallon tank $50 fill up once a week or $200/month
1999 MB SLK230 20MPG 15 gallon tank around $26 to fill up once a week or $104/month
Monthly gas expense - $300 but closer to $400 (drove Touareg on weekends)

After
2005 Honda CRV (VW bought back the Touareg due to quality issues i.e. dying in the middle of traffic for no apparent reason) 20MPG $24 fill up once a week or $100/month
2006 Honda Civic Hybrid 42MPG or so $20 fill up once every week and half or $60/month or so
Monthly gas expense - $160/month

Conservatively we are saving around $200/month or $2400/year in gas! Don't even get me started on the difference in maintenance bills! Holy Moly. Now only if Honda built a CRV Hybrid.....

I'm seeing considerable savings too.
I was driving a Jaguar XJ6 75 miles a day, 4 days a week (sometimes 5 days a week).
At 18 MPG, I used about 75 gallons a month. Super Unleaded.
Now, at 46+ MPG, I use about 29 gallons a month. Regular Grade.

That's 46 gallons less a month, and translates to about $100 - even with gas a $2 for regular. This helps PAY FOR my new car!
