well... most exhaust tips if they don't have the screws in them to secure to the tail pipe then they're supposed to be welded on. If you use glue, expect to be making multiple trips to walmart to buy more tips.

i asked the guys from walmart and they recommended JD welder or something like that

I think they might be talking about an epoxy glue called JB Weld. I think I still have some in toolbox, but I still gotta believe that it would not handle the heat. Exhaust gets really hot and would likely melt the epoxy, but I could be wrong.

The last time I checked, JB Weld was rated at over 400C. It should handle the end of tailpipe. BTW, there are exhaust system epoxies.

I don't know about using glue. Although you can find high-temp epoxies pretty easily, I think the repeated temperature range would eventually cause it to become brittle. I'd go with a weld.
