New Driver
Hey all, I picked up my 2005 Prius II on Monday, and filled up for the first time today. I didn't wait for the fuel warning - it was down to one bar and that was enough for me. 53.3 MPG - not bad I guess, but I'm hoping for much better.
I've been playing with pulse and glide - but am also taking a lot of people for test drives,on which I get very poor mileage given that everyone wants to see how the car accelerates, how it brakes, etc, etc....
I have a 100 mile round trip daily commute with a mix of flats and hills, highways and state roads... I'm really hoping to average 60+ soon. Any advice would be great!

Re: New Driver
It takes quite a few miles for the car to break in, so you'll get some more mileage as it loosens up over the next several thousand miles. Other than that, you'll most likely learn pretty quick by keeping an eye on the MFD as to what to do, or not do to improve your mileage.
