My 2006 FEH driver side break hose broke last week with a 135k. I drove the car to my dealer and he said the hose needed to be replaced and I should consider replacing all the brake hoses because they show signs of aging. After changing all 4 hoses, the dealer could not bleed the brakes with the ids system. At the end of every bleed, he got the error message that their is a bleeder valve open. In reality the valve was closed. The mechanic called fords tech line which told him to bleed the system multiple times and then if that does not work, try a manual bleed. Well , he did all that to no avail. Ford said I need a new hcu unit. I have a ? Has anyone heard of the bleed valve error and can I put in a used hcu. I found one from a car with 64000 miles on it and the dealer tells me 6 hrs of labor to install. In the most recent iteration of the part did for fix the premature failure of hcu. I found one from a 2007 which has same hcu number listed.

Before spending any money have the dealership print out the exact code numbers and the peanut gallery found here can proceed. I suspect it is not what you have been told.
