2006 Ford Escape Hybrid Brake Hose Failure
I have a Ford Escape Hybrid with 135K. Last night I parked the car in the garage at work, and this morning after the attendant brought it back to me, the brake and ABS light were on. I knew the brake line broke or tore because I saw fluid all over the driver wheelwell. I slowly managed to drive the car to the dealer for him to confirm my own diagnosis. He then went on to tell me that all hoses were worn and the bill would be 1000 dollars which sounds crazy. They told me to bleed the brakes on the hybrid system takes 2.5 hrs of labor. However, I can not see 3.5 hours to replace the flex hoses on 4 wheels. I know you need dealer equipment to bleed the brakes on the hybrid. Can someone suggest a fair price.

Try searching the forum for "bleeding" or "brake line failure". Here's a post that might help: https://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/...tml#post241583

Re: 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid Brake Hose Failure
Well the dealer put the 4 new hoses in and has had my car for two full days. I called them today and service adviser told me that the mechanic is having trouble bleeding the brake system and that I might possibly need a new HCU unit. Any thoughts if driving with the broken hose could have killed my HCU? The mechanic has been in touch with ford.
