2008 FEH Brake Problems

2008 FEH AWD

Cliffs:

- ABS Light Came on 5 months ago and code said LF wheel sensor
- I switched out the LF sensor
- It turned out to be a broken stater ring and not the wheel sensor
- I superglued the ring (lol) and that worked for 4 months until winter broke it
- I just paid to have the axle replaced
- ABS Light is still on (shop is telling me its the sensor again)
- Now Brake light on the dash is on
- Car is being jerky at low speeds and at stopping
- Gas pedal is now working intermittently and sometimes not at all which is obviously dangerous.

Thoughts? I haven't had the codes read since the Brake Light came on.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: 2008 FEH Brake Problems

It seems to brake fine still. Just hesitant at low speeds like it is trying to brake by itself. The gas pedal not working concerns me the most.

I have unplugged/replugged all of the ABS sensors and disconnected the negative side of the battery. Going to try to a hard reset to the computer to see if that helps. A long shot I know.

Re: 2008 FEH Brake Problems

After the battery reset the Brake light on the dash is off. But nothing is fixed.

If I let the car just roll to a stop it will star jerking like the brakes are trying to engage by themselves.

I think I am just going to try the sensor one more time then get the codes checked.

Highly recommend the free FORscan diagnostic software and an inexpensive OBD2 adapter. Read your own codes and know what is going on.

Re: 2008 FEH Brake Problems

Any other advice or scenarios?

I am going to have the shop switch out the LF wheel sensor one more time tomorrow and check the all of the pads and rotors. Hopefully we can fix this.
