brake light on after go over a bump
 

A 2012 Escape Hybrid brake light may turn on after the car goes over a bump but brake works just fine. After car is restarted, the light will go away. Battery is new. What else should I check?

I would consider cleaning and reattaching the ABS grounds, sounds suspect of a loose connection.

Pull the DTC codes with FORSCAN.

I had a randomly illuminated red dash brake light, with displayed text: "Check Brake System"
on one of my 2012 FEH, the result a leaky vacuum hose check valve--a known problem in
2010-2012 Escape/Mariner hybrids, TSB-22353, and 2010-2012 Fusion, Milan, and MKZ
hybrids, TSB-11-11-10.

The Escape is prone to the ABS tone ring failing. One actually just failed on my car this week. You can lay on the ground and have a look at the ring without jacking the car up. In my case, a simple touch of the ring made it obvious that it was cracked and able to spin separately from the shaft. A replacement was only $7 from amazon and should just be an hour or two to replace.
