DC/DC Converter Ford Escape Hybrid

Hello everyone. I was recentally shopping a local swap meet and found a band new Ford Escape Hybrid DC/DC converter. If you know anyone that would want it for one heck of a deal, I am currently selling it on eBay for the next 10 days. If you are interested, please visit the link. Thanks, and have a good day. These retail for about two thousand or so dollars, so I am sure that someone would love to get a good discount on it. I am just trying to save you all some money, and this is a brand new part. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at mfalk22@gmail.com. Thanks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AIT&viewitem=

Sure, I can help you. So as you may or may not know, many hybrids today have batteries that push in excess of 250 or so volts. The problem with this is that many car electronics (all non hybrid) usually run on 12 volts. (Lights, stereo, computer, radio, etc.) In order to run these components, a DC/DC converts that 250 volts down to 12 volts in order to do this.

I can't see any reason to buy one unless yours is broken.

They have a 8 year, 100,000 mile warranty in all states.
They have a 10 year, 150,000 mile warranty in 8 states,
Primariliy California and East Coast states get a longer warranty due to stricter rules imposed in so called "green" states.

They go under serious stress, and I am sure any part is bound to fail after a few years. I am just saying that I have one for replacement, if anyone is interested, not that I am saying you need a backup, but it is brand new, and I am sure that you can get a great deal on it for those of you who's vehicles are out of warranty.

I can't say which states they are, but recent articles indicate that 12 states follow CARB standards.

Are the DC DC converters cover under warranty? I have a 2016 Ford energi and the 12V keeps draining
Thanks

Read above, apparently there is a warranty. I've measured my voltage and its been dropping to 90 volts vs the 105-110 it used to put out. This is probably because of the amount I've used it.
