Dealer is trying to convince me to drain and fill cvt yearly

Well, you referred to it at lub assuming you meant lube, I don't know nor do I have any reason to know much about the Prius so I based it not having ATF off of you saying lube which would be more of a gear oil generally.

ATF most generally means hydraulic functions are involved, not just lubrication and cooling. But the move aware from heavier viscosity oils for the benefit of FE improvement has "muddied" the water somewhat.

I read the service manual and it never mentioned changing the CVT fluid anywhere...why??

It's supposed to be good for the life of the vehicle. The specified CVT fluid for a 2006 is Mercon ATF.
