That's for sure. I am not really interested in the ESP I was just seeing what was offered.

 

Bob, I got mine (via local Ford Dealership) last October for the 7 year 75,000 mile warranty for around $975.00 I purchased my "new" 2005 in June 2007 and in October it had maybe 6500 miles.

 

The Warranty booklet for my 2008 Mariner 2WD Hybrid says the Escape/Mariner Hybrid Unique Components have a Limited warranty for 8 years /100,000 miles.
How much longer is the California required warrantee?
Does the Calif extension cover just the Battery?
Does the Calif. extension cover the Transmission?
Does the Calif. extension cover All parts of the engine?

The booklet says that the standard warranty of the Powertrain is 5 years /60,000 miles.
Does California extend that or anything else for longer?

Does it make sense pay for an extended service plan from Ford?

 

There are not any extension periods in CA or 7 other states that adopted Calif. rules on the traditional gas powered parts of the car.

You get 10yr/150,000 miles on the exhaust system I believe, and you get 10/150,000 on the high voltage battery for sure.

I 'think' you get 10/150,000 on the transmission and DC/DC converter also.
You did in 2005. I think the rules would be the same now, but I don't own a 2008.

 

My understanding is that the official definition is 10 years/ 150K miles on the hybrid parts and emissions systems.
