Well, the guy in the post above you has an extra set of fans!

If the part number is the same for the 2011 as for the 2006, you can get them here: https://parts.autonationfordwhitebea...ly-5m6z10c659b

Default Re: HV Battery Cooling Fan Replacement/ Wrench Light

Hi all,

On my way to the dealership now in northern MI where they know nothing about hybrids...

My wrench light has been on since I bought the 2012 Ford Hybrid EScape a few months ago. It goes on after an hour on the hwy, especially on hot days. On a cold rainy day, I couldn't get it to come on.

I've had the hybrid coolant pump replaced already, light still on.

I get this code:

Common Problems That Trigger the P0A7C Code

  • Converter failure
  • High voltage control module failure
  • Hybrid transaxle assembly failure
  • Motor electronics coolant temperature sensor failure

I'm assuming I should have him start at the MECs sensor? It seems that's what everyone here has done first with wrench light issues.

Any thoughts welcome! Heading in shortly (15 mins...) Hopefully I'm not too late.

I also printed out the battery blend door change instructions for him but that's a different code. I assume that code would have come up in diagnosis?

Thanks for your help!!

Also, I'm getting lousy mileage. It rarely goes into hybrid mode - only at 20mpg or so.

What is this process? I can't seem to find anything about it. Is this to clean or replace a harness to the traction battery? I seem to get a stop safely now issue, but it only happens on very warm days and when driving in town.
