Hmmm, maybe not worthy of starting a whole new thread but I just got word from my dealer this afternoon; my 2008 FEH is on the train from the factory to me!

He figured that means roughly 3 weeks or so before it lands here. For those keeping track, I placed my order on Nov 23rd.

... now, off to that site to see if someone can track it for me using the VIN number... that was "blueovalforums" right?

 

Not so easy to find out where my FEH is I guess... I posted to the blueovalforum but Viper came back saying that my VIN was incorrect and that I should get the right one.

The one I gave was the one that my dealer provided me with so I don't know what to do.

I checked it out here https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp with ford fleet and the system says the same thing; incorrect VIN.

I've asked the dealer to confirm the VIN but what a downer ... I was looking forward to getting a copy of the window sticker!

Thanks Hugo, that's all exactly what I did but as you see in my previous post the response that I got back was that my VIN is "incorrect".

I guess I'll have to wait to hear back from my dealer with a corrected VIN (I was looking forward to the excitement of seeing the window sticker before it got here)

 

Wierd -- I'm on coffee, so I played around with your VIN.

Try this number, it works on the Ford Fleet site :

K instead of the E is the error -- the K stands for the

Assembly Plant - 11th Position
VIN Code: K
Assembly Plant: KANSAS CITY: CLAYCOMO, MO

When I was tracking mine, all the Escape Hybrid VINs on BlueOval had a "KB" in them, when mine was made it had a "KC" in it, maybe moving on in production hits the "KD" series of last seven digit code.

You had me a little confused there - I was wondering how you had the VIN (First thing that pops in to my mind is "Hey, Hugo is ViperPilot!" ... then the light bulb goes on that you visited the thread and saw my post .... duhh!)

According to CSX railroad, your FEH is getting 225 MPG while on a train!

Ok, so I got a PDF of the window sticker and it proclaims fuel consumption of:

50 MPG City (5.7 L/100km)
42 MPG Highway (6.7 L/100km)

That seems a lot higher than I was expecting! For example I notice the mileage database here shows MPG in the mid 30's is about what one can expect. Is there seriously that much difference?

 

Ummm what kind of car are you getting?

That is NOT the MPG rating for the Ford Escape Hybrids.
