Need a new Spare tire and Rim?
 

Well I pulled the spare down on our Hybrid to check the air and it had a heavy rim leak. Tire shop could not break loose the back bead without damaging tire so I believe it is toast!


The stickers says I need a T155/80D18 for the car, even though all the tires are 16"... why is that?


It appears this is an aluminum rim for weight purposes and probably the reason why it corroded and rotted the tire. Any suggestions on replacements? 16"? Steel rim? All the sites like Ebay selling old spare and rims are calling for 16" for this car, why does my sticker call for 18"?

A full size spare will fit underneath so that's another option.

You should be able to get a rim/tire set from a wrecker cheap. They basically have to dispose of them.
