Re: No HEV display on nav sys
I would check your nav system to ensure it is programmed for the HEV input.
With the key in the Run (3) position, and the nav unit started up (past the welcome screen), press and hold the 3 and 6 buttons. This will take you into the diagnostic mode. Release the 3 and 6 buttons. It starts with a Speaker Walk Test. Press End Test. Next, press Configuration Status. Scroll down to the HEV line; this line should read "[Enabled]," if it doesn't then you may have to have the nav unit reprogrammed by a dealer. I hope this is helpful.

I think you may have a 2009 or 2010 radio unit in a 2008. The 2008 has a different engine.

Re: No HEV display on nav sys
If that isn't the cause, what is you H/W version? I noticed a DTC about the Map DVD. Does your navigation function work properly?
You are correct about the different engines, but, as I understand it, all the nav unit uses is fuel consumption and vehicle speed (information comes from the CAN), and the calculation is performed within the unit. So, the different engine theory is not likely the cause.
