Replacing 12v Battery - procedure?
The existing 12v battery in my 2012 is only 3 years old, but is weak (barely passes a load test). I'd like to replace it, but is there a special procedure required?
On regular vehicles, after battery is replaced I may have to reset radio programs and it may take a few drives for the engine control unit to relearn the fuel trims.
But on the FEH, is there a special procedure once battery is pulled and replaced? Any practical experience you might share on the FEH?
Many thanks.

Can't say it's any different than any other vehicle. I prefer to let it idle for a few minutes after replacing the battery, so it can assess the HV battery state of charge at more moderate currents.

On most cars you can preserve existing settings by connecting 12V to the dash power outlet (Cigar lighter socket). You can use a jumper battery with appropriate cable. You can also buy a tool that uses a 9V battery. As long as the voltage stays above a certain value the settings and memory will be preserved while you swap the battery. All shops use a version of this.
