Re: rescuing a clean 05, is there a thread to help me?
i removed my top o2 sensor after reading a thread on the p0562 code that was caused by clogged exhaust, idled for a while, no ssn!
put the sensor back in and ssn, guess i will remove the exhaust and clean it
also must have jump charged my bank enough last night that today i was codeless for the first time, except the p1000, before the sensorless idle, then got a code for exhaust leak and the p0562, so i will continue the jump charging
also the bank vent door can be heard as it actuates

got the exhaust manifold/cat off after a fight and it looks clean, have read that a small amount of restriction can be a problem for the computer, soaking it in dawn
anyone know where to get the round headed splined studs (pipe flange) that look like mini wheel studs? avoiding the dealer? bolts may have to do
the rear cat will soak tonight
is there a simple test to be sure the honeycomb is clean before i put it back on?

Do you know if your ICE is running the correct air/fuel mixture at idle and wide open throttle (and the range between)? A clogged exhaust might indicate there's some other issues with the engine.

An OBD-II scanner should be able to read in real time. Might be a good idea in your case to check fuel trim and get an idea how healthy your engine is.

its running great now, didn't do anything to the rear cat yet, noticed water dripping from holes in it, gotta check if they are drilled or rotted
showing 25mpg at the end of a 25 minute drive at 30-60mph
interstate test tomorrow

yep, after using a lot of hot water to rinse the 3 ounces of dawn out of the cat it still put out a big stinky vapor cloud, ran it a few short times to clear it then bolted on the rest of the exhaust
