Sources of detailed technical info. on IMA
Given all of my recent posts - it's clear that I'm trying to probe my way around how the IMA is supposed to work.
I called the service manager at my dealership and asked him if there were any good technical information that explains how the IMA works. He couldn't come up with anything.
It seems like Honda should have something avaiable for us ****-retentive owners who want to actually understand how our car works.
Anybody have any good sources for this type of info? I've been impressed with the info. that I've gotten so far - I'm wondering if that's all been inferred from driving experience.
If there isn't anything, I'd like to petition Honda to provide it. Anybody know where/how I could do that?
Thanks,
Wes

Re: Sources of detailed technical info. on IMA
poke around the civic threads- almost the same system, and a lot of people have delved into it over the past years. Lots of details and links there (don't know any offhand- sorry). Some links in there, or else google something like 'IMA civic details' and go down a few pages.

Like when does charging happen and when does assist happen?
I just want to understand why the CHRG/ASST display behaves the way it does.
I'm an engineer, what can I say?

The Auto Channel has a good article. It's not engineering-level, but helpful for discovering things about your car. See http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...17/229317.html

Check out http://www.insightcentral.net/
It's all about Insight's, but gives a good explanation of the IMA system. Not too detailed for an engineer type
