How do I post a picture from aan Apple iMac?

Question How do I post a picture from an Apple iMac?
I get the image tags, but I cant see the picture in the preview...

Here is an example of a tag for a picture I am trying to use...
[IMG]\Users\Me\MyPicture.jpg[/IMG]

I am on a mac not windows so no c:\pic.jpg...

Any ideas?

Put your image at some open web site and then use the URL to that site. Works everytime.

I tried that - I have local apache running and I can see the url in my browser, but when I try to preview it, I dont see the picture... Nothing appears in my pictures either... Am I doing something wrong?

[IMG]http:\\192.168.1.100\MyPic.gif[/IMG]

The 192... address is a local address, not one that can be accessed from the outside world.

If you've got a .mac account, post it there.

So the share area actually makes a copy. Do images in a posting area exist only as a reference, they aren't copied up to the server?

I work off an iMac and an eMac

You need to upload your pictures from the desktop to a photohosting website like www.photobucket.com or www.putfile.com
Both of these are free.
Once uploaded, select the bb/forum one that starts [img]

That's correct. The Share section makes a copy, puts it on the GreenHybrid server and makes it viewable to the world. You can also use the image tag to stick a picture in the Discuss forums, but we discourage that.

As Jason mentioned the GH server will store a copy of your photo and it does not matter one bit if you have a Mac or PC or Linux box. Once the pic is uploaded to the Share section the code for a direct like will appear below the picture. Copy the code and sandwich it between img tags and your pic will be visible to all who read your post.

Using "Share" is free and easy. There is no additional signing up or anything of the sort. The red orange "Share" tab second from the right on top will take you straight there from anywere else on the site.
