2012 HiHY CVT fluid change
OK, based on this thread:
https://www.greenhybrid.com/forums/f...t-fluid-29469/
There are some important differences and tricks.
1. Drain plug and fill plug are on opposite transmission sides!!!!! Holeabove and behind the inner axle is NOT fill plug, do not attempt to fill through it. I am VERY fortunate I tried to slide my finger into that hole just to find that is basically has a solid wall behind it with a tiny gap. That being said - I already had fluid drained in good faith that THAT is actual fill hole. With some inspection and fear, I spotted the other hole on the transmission opposite side and that was the one.

2. There is unpleasant surprise to that location though. Normal hex wrench sticks out too far from the plug and becomes covered by control arm. No way to turn it. Fortunately, I have cut off tool, so I turned it onto a stubby and that worked:

You can possibly undo it after removing driver side wheel and having LONG extension and proper hex socket.
3. Advantage to that location is - it's quite easy to access from the driver side tire well:

With set up like this:

ALL plugs had to be broken loose with cheat pipe.
Lift came handy:

As car set level and plumb.
Fluid is NOT new or even close:

Total refill was about 4, 4 and a skoosh qrts. Alldata said it will be 4.9. Was not. Refill was to drip from the hole.
Rear diff was no surprises. Took in about 2 qrts. Fluid condition was a bit better.
Truck was driven thereafter, all works fine.
Please sticky this. Thank you.
