Default Biofuel Illegal?

Here is a interesting article in the Baltimore Sun indicating that states are upset and trying to fine people for not paying their taxes on biofuel but the feds are calling biofuel outright illegal. Hmmmm I guess it is true, it's money that matters.

Wonder how they will tax electric cars charged with solar power? Maybe a use tax on sunshine .

This is an important indicator of things to come. We can't escape the reality that all cars, hybrid or not, require roads and road maintenance. When hybrids and plug-ins become a significant part of the mix, a process will have to exist to fairly assess the cost of maintaining roads.

Angry Re: Biofuel Illegal?

I still get PO'd anytime our Oklahoma legislators talk about Road Use Tax... it' supposed to be used to maintain our highway infrastructure. Nearly 6,300 bridges are structurally deficient in Oklahoma, which means the bridges aren't meant to carry today's loads, (this is federal data). Of those, 989 bridges are on Oklahoma's state highway system.

We received over 1 Billion dollars in Federal Highway Funds and over $500 Million of that got siphoned off before it ever made it into the budget.

I want my road use tax dollars to FIX our roads. We're pretty much near the bottom of the nation where road conditions are concerned.
