Excellent! Add more like you and we can put a dent in oil consumption.

Talking Re: 700 Mile Tank Club

I'd like to welcome myself to this club!

Interestingly, the tank average by computer was farther off than usual, and I had less remaining gas than I expected. It said I was getting 48.6 MPG, when the measured was 737.4 mi / 15.99 gal = 46.1 MPG, an error of 2.5 MPG! It usually reads 0.5 to 1.5 high.

Despite me not having the hybrid, I just got my first 700 mile tank.

701.0 miles on 16.327 gallons. Hooray.

Sorry for the necro-post.

That's impressive for a non-hybrid. I'm curious about how you did it. I assume that it was mostly highway. What speed did you drive?

I drove 55 MPH for ~20 miles to and from work; 1 mile city, 18 miles on the highway and 1 mile city. I imagine it would have been higher but there were at least 3 trips that were not my daily commute. I installed the engine block heater which I use for 1 hour to raise the temperature to 90-100 F. I have an upper grill block which I'm debating the usefulness at these warmer temperatures.
