Default Anyone Install the OEM TY-6100 Factory Look Camry Navigation Unit?

Hello everyone...

I'm a brand new owner of a 2009 Camry Hybrid. I chose the cheapest bone stock TCH there can be (No JBL, No Nav, NO leather ... Nothing). I chose this mainly because, I didn't want to throw down the extra $5,000. Anyway all i want is a nice entertainment unit that plays dvds, ipod, bluetooth ...etc without taking away the OEM, stock look. There is one unit in particular I'm looking at, which is the OEM - TY-6100 from oeradio.com. I have been searching and searching forums, their website and stuff looking for information about this unit with minimal results .

Basically I'm looking for a Camry Hybrid owner, or Regular Camry owner that has pictures of it installed in their Camry and has a review about it. Should I throw down money on it or just save my money.

Thanks in advance for any information...

Please let me know. I am in the process of determining if I am going to get the TCH and sell my car. Whether or not this works with the ability to play DVD's while driving is one of the key factors.

Yes, do keep us posted...this could be interesting....

I have a feeling it wont work with the JBL system because of the darn Toyota/JBL proprietary audio network connection....ticks me off they use that....

Well...maybe it will... the manual talks about CAN and LAN adapters...I'll have to read the rest of the manual.

You can install any aftermarket headunit with the JBL system, you just need this adaptor:

I finished the install. It was super easy. The TY-6100 kit comes with a harness that you just plug into the existing wiring (unless you have JBL, then you have to purchase an adapter). The install took me about 3 hours to do with no experience. The only problem I had was the E-brake bypass.

Things to know :

- You will loose you hybrid screen (Basically that little screen near the odometer) it turns into a outside temperature screen.

I'll post some pictures soon.. I gotta take it with the iphone. brb.

Now that's weird. Why would it affect the MFD? Is it because the parking break is 'on' in order to watch video?
