Regarding previous threads about bad brake actuators/sensors on Camry hybrids, 2007-2011, I think it's outrageous that Toyota did not issue a recall.

Unfortunately this problem developed, frighteningly so when going 65 mph, in my 2007 Camry hybrid, on an icy Denver freeway. The brakes went soft and I drifted to the emergency lane, then crawled home with compromised brakes. I feel lucky to have avoided a major accident. To add insult to injury, it took the Toyota shop a few days to figure out the problem. Then, I learned I was 7 months outside of the 'extended warranty' that ended Jun 2017 (on my 88,000 mile car) for these parts. The Toyota service manager just shrugged it off and said, "my Toyota rep said there was nothing I could do." In addition, TOYDOCTOR, in Aurora, quoted a $5,000 repair cost. Needless to say, I'm DONE WITH TOYOTA. I trust Hyundai and Honda will value my business (?and my life) more than my previous loyalty to Toyota. Shame on Toyota for not doing the right thing, and making this a mandatory recall for these dangerous brake actuator/sensors. Last I heard, brakes were important on cars!!
