Unhappy Check hybrid, check VSC systems, ESP, and a yellow exclamation

Hello everyone,

Today I was driving my 2008 TCH (122K miles) with the AC is on, all was good. Stopped the car for couple of minutes until battery's level became low, when it started the gas engine, all warning messages came together
Check Hybrid System
Check VSC System
The ESP
and a yellow exclamation circle.

I drove the car then to park it properly, I noticed on the display that there is no arrows between the engine and battery, also I noticed that the car has lost the power, furthermore it charged the battery yet the engine won't go off!

turned off and on, off and on, nothing has changed.

Any similar symptoms ?

Read the codes. The car will be very happy to tell you what the problem is.

I would highly suspect you have a failed hybrid battery.

Update:

I went to the mechanic to check on the codes, and it was one of those problems you pull your hair off after knowing the cause.

I mentioned above that I stopped the car, but it seems like I stopped the car and shifted the gear to neutral! the AC ate the battery and bingo!

Fixing costed $5 to check the codes and reset, all is normal now!

Thanks

That's relatively good news.

What you can't measure is the damage done and the reduced battery life you'll likely experience. The A/C pulls around 8-9A, and that's more than sufficient to damage individual cells if they are deeply discharged.

I'd love to disagree with what you said, but sadly it is true. I will be checking the battery and replacing the damaged / weak cells (although I already have weak ones).

Since you haven't experienced an outright failure, you could likely delay it for 2-3 years with a Hybrid Automotive Reconditioning system:
