Hit 1000 miles today...
We went to a wedding over on the eastern shoreline of CT today, so we put about 170 miles on the car and brought it up over 1000 miles. For the first time ever I heard the center console squeak. My husband was driving and he had his leg over leaning against the side there, and we had a bottle of water and a soda in the cupholders. Usually when I drive I have nothing in the cupholders and I don't lean my leg there. If I took the bottle of water out and he moved his leg it stopped squeaking. Anyhow, I guess we will be asking the dealership to do something about that, because hubby can't stand the squeak. My solution: turn up the stereo .
We actually went out of our way to get over into the far left lane so we could get a closer look at a car that we thought (from a distance in the rear view) was another Jasper Pearl TCH. It turned out to be a Silver Pine Mica Avalon, which we realized when it got closer . On more than one occasion on our trip from my vantage point in the passenger seat, I saw drivers of other vehicles checking out the hybrid badges on my TCH. It was either that, or they had some real interest in the front passenger tire... .
FE on this tank with 201 miles is 39.6, which I think is really good considering that today's trip was mostly highway.

I just got back from my first road trip with my Jasper Pearle on the other side of the country. My hubby had his class reunion up in Coulee Dam (we live in the Yakima Valley) so this trip was partly freeway, partly 2 lane highway over mostly rolling hills but with a few steep climbs/descents. Overall for the trip I got 37.9 mpg! Oh, there was also a bunch of local driving, too. Total miles for the trip was just about 380 ...and I still show I can go 100+ miles on the tank! YIPPEE! Total on the car is just over 800 miles. OH, ran the AC all the time because the temp was in the 90's most of the time!
We did the trip up without any stopping and the ECO was showing 40 mpg when we arrived. We also got some interesting looks and at least 1 thumbs-up in the motel parking lot.
Because the car is so quiet I am finding I need to look behind me really carefully as people are not aware the car is about to move!

In my parking lot at work I leave my windows down with the radio on, because it seems like people really are oblivious to the fact that the car is moving since it is so quiet.
