Default Smushed radio display

I have the non-NAV TCH (I believe the radios are different in the NAV).
In any event, today, my letters were smushed. I could make out the words, since I knew what they were, but it wasn't the way it was supposed to be.
I rebooted the car and it was back to normal.
Anyone else experience this?

Larry,

Did you let your TCH go drinking on its own last night???

Larry,

It looks like a random glich in the control circuit. Mine did it once around a year ago and has never done it again. I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again.

Mine started off like this and eventually had to be replaced under warranty. You will know when you try to change a station or forward a track using the head unit. Each time you press a button on the head unit it will spit out a loaded CD.

Mine did it a couple time when the car was rather new. I turned off the radio for a few minutes, after that it worked ok. No problems after those first few times.

got this at another site...
One of my friends had this. It's caused by leaking current inside the LCD (usually due to bad QC on the part of the LCD's supplier). Take the photo to your dealer and have them change it out.

since the oldest TCH is still relatively new, it's possible that this issue could lead to problems after a period of time. hate having it replaced, but hate having it fail after warranty period, also.
what to do?

Spoke to dealer. He was familiar with the issue. Said to bring it in for an Onboard Diagnostic Check and in all likelihood the radio or a button on the wheel (not sure why)would need to be replaced.
